  1. Most holiday destinations have scenic walking tracks and trails. Go for a leisurely walk or a more challenging hike and enjoy the nature. Remember to bring with you good walking shoes or boots.
  2. Visit a local gym for weight or cardio training. You can always ask the concierge if there are any local gyms in the area of where you are staying, some hotels even have special rates with the local gyms.
  3. Most hotels and resorts have their own gym. Visit the gym before breakfast to make the most of your time, and to allow time to fit all your holiday activites into your day.
  4. Jog on the beach. If your holiday is a beach holiday, jogging on the beach is the ultimate holiday workout tip. Just remember to pack your runners. Early morning or at sunset are the most enjoyable times, also when there are less people on the beach.
  5. Go for a swim. This is another perfect holiday workout tip if you are on a beach holiday. If you can't swim in the ocean many hotels and resorts have indoor swimming pool facilities.
  6. If you are close to the ocean take a day to go canoeing or kayaking. The paddling is great for your upper body.
  7. Hire a bike and get out and see the sights. A cycling holiday is a great way to travel. You can chat to people on the way, stop frequently to take in the scenery, smell and hear all that is going on around you. Remember to always wear a helmet and obey the road rules.
  8. If you are staying in a resort - make the most of the resort activities on offer, such as tennis, miniature golf, badminton, wind surfing etc.
  9. Snorkeling or diving. You might not realize it but you are burning lots of calories while snorkeling or scuba diving.
  10. Use the stairs instead of the lift. Try to take the stairs as often as possible. Unless you are staying on the 25th floor that is.
