Darwin Travel News, Guides & Information
The capital of the Top End of Australia, Darwin, is an outback city which entails a unique blend of the relaxed tropical north, combined with cosmopolitan culture and diversity. It is the perfect city to cruise at your own pace, enjoying stunning harbourside sunsets and the local vibe, before venturing into the Top End's natural wonders.
Its harbourside wharf, dating back to the 1800's, is nowadays home to a cosmopolitan range of bars and restaurants serving world class cuisine. While another favourite amongst visitors, are the harbour cruises which depart from the wharf, sailing or cruising the warm waters of northern Australia.
The wharfside area is also the perfect vantage point to watch the magnificent Darwin thunderstorms in the wet season, or the colourful sunsets in the dry season.
When visiting the city of Darwin, a day trip to the nearby Tiwi Islands is a culturally enriching experience, or alternatively getting up close and personal with salt water crocodiles at Crocosaurus Cove will get the adrenalin running.
Beyond the city centre, Darwin is of course in close proximity to many of Australia's most famous natural attractions, including the world heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, Katherine Gorge and Litchfield National Park.
Creative Holidays has a variety of Darwin Holiday Packages to suit all budgets and holiday needs.
