BEST TIME TO TRAVEL
December to March - Botswana and Zimbabwe are great for bird watching in these months and travelling to Capetown and then along the Garden route of South Africa is best at this time of the year.
April to November - These are the best months for game viewing in South Africa where it is cooler and the grasses are thinner and water holes are scarce making the viewing of animals a whole lot easier. These months are also the best time for game viewing in Botswana's National Parks before the rains hit and the animals disperse to wilder areas and not around the water holes.
Victoria Falls - are spectacular in April and May after the rainy season, although the thick spray may obscure your view. At the end of the dry season (October to December) the water levels are low and one can see the magnificent rock formation of the falls. River rafting is most exciting during low water (August to December) and is limited at high water.
